Christie Brinkley Wins Pet Philanthropy 2013 Pet Hero Award

Christie Brinkley has been honored with the 2013 Pet Hero Award from the Pet Philanthropy Circle, an organization with a mission to “save and enhance the quality of animal lives by promoting greater public awareness of their welfare and the causes that protect them.”
Pet Philanthropy Circle cited numerous reasons for Brinkley being deserving of such an award, including the diet she has chosen to for most of her life.
From Pet Philanthropy Circle:
“From the early age of 13, Christie knew she felt strongly about this world we live in. She started with making the choice to be a vegetarian. She has a protective passion for all animals, all wildlife, and every aspect of our environment.”
Other activities that Brinkley has participated in to promote animal welfare including encouraging the end of animal tested cosmetics, advocating the end of horse slaughter,being an advocate for marine life, adopting a rescue dog herself and designing a pet collar collection for the North Shore Animal League.
