Rachael Ray appeared on Good Morning America to discuss hot dogs!
Before you click to close the browser (isn’t this a vegetarian site?), you should know that the main point of Ray’s cooking demonstration was not to teach about meaty dogs themselves but the toppings that could go on them.
Not forgetting her meatless fans, Ray suggests what goes well on every type of dog, including tofu dogs.
Twelve ways to dress up any dog is illustrated in the current issue of her magazine, Everyday with Rachael Ray.
Some veggie ideas Ray had for those tofu pups you can grill, boil, or saute include hummus, vegetarian refried beans and several combinations of vegetables and spices.
Ray also took the opportunity to give a plug to her line of dog food, Nutrish, that benefits shelter dogs across the country.
“We done something special called the 100k challenge and handed over $600,000 to animal rescue big and small, 50 participating animal rescues. All across the country. Yes and challenged them to save the same amount of animals and we saved 15,000 extra lives of dogs and cats and excited we’re kicking that off again.”
