Morrissey Backs Investigations Of Vivisection Labs At London College

Morrissey has put his name behind a plan to investigate animal research at London’s Imperial College.
Several years ago, in response to similar concerns at Oxford university, Morrisey said: “If you agree with vivisection, go and be vivisected upon yourself.”
Fellow British musician Brian May, also backs an independent investigation at the college’s vivisection labs and said he was “shocked and saddened” at allegations of how the animals were treated.
Michelle Thew, chief executive of the British Union for the Abolition of Vivisection, said: “We welcome the support from Morrissey on this important issue. Our investigation at Imperial College London raises significant and far reaching questions about animal research in the U.K. and it is crucial that a fully independent inquiry is carried out.”
