A vegan bakery based in Matawan, New Jersey won the Food Network’s recent Cupcake Wars competition.
Papa Ganache received the top prize of 10,000 dollars and the opportunity to feed the sweet craving crowd at the People’s Choice Awards.
Judges were thrilled with the baker’s crème brulée, chocolate ganache and salted caramel, l Brussel-carrot curry topped with cream cheese frosting and maple-curry reduction, and gluten-free lemon with blackberry and lemon-thyme filling cupcakes.
The final round of competition left Papa Ganache with the challenge of baking 1,000 cupcakes in two hours and arranging them in a design to fit the People’s Choice Awards after party.
In addition to being 100% vegan, Papa Ganache’s cupcakes are mostly organic and made without preservatives and baked in small patches in the NJ bakery.
Vegan cupcakes are what won Papa Ganache Cupcake Wars, but the bakery also sells vegan cookies, vegan muffins, and vegan specialty items like scones, pies and donuts.

Why are the baker’s names not mentioned? They did the work. Not ONE of the articles (and there are many) put out by Papa Ganache give credit to the two talented bakers that are obviously the reason for all this recognition.

Congratulations to Amy Loch and Justin Rodriguez, the two talented vegan bakers whose creative and beautiful cupcakes won the judges over. They were honored with a gorgeous crystal People’s Choice Award with their names inscribed with the phrase “Favorite Cupcakes”.
