Tal Ronnen Behind Kite Hill Vegan Cheese Company

Tal Ronnen is one of the players behind a new line of vegan cheeses created from nuts.
Kite Hill Cheese company promises to deliver “artisanal nut milk-based cheeses of remarkable craftsmanship.”
According to descriptions from Kite Hill, the cheeses will be gourmet in taste, with select blends of spices that make them stand out from the usual cheddar or mozzarella.
For example, take the Castanoa, seasoned with paprika and fennel pollen.
“Costanoa is a semi-soft cheese encrusted with a piquant crust of paprika and fennel pollen. Its texture is smooth and compact, making this cheese excellent for slicing and serving on crackers or fresh baguette rounds. We love to offset Costanoa’s buttery, earthy, peppery flavors with a pairing of fresh or caramelized figs.”
Ronnen, author of vegan cookbook, The Conscious Cook, has had much experience catering events and for high profile celebrities like Oprah and Ellen DeGeneres.
A graduate of the National Gourmet Institute, Ronnen has worked in restaurants all over the United States, conducts vegetarian cooking workshops at Le Cordon Bleu campuses and is a consulting chef of LYFE Kitchen in Palo Alto, California, a restaurant crafted from the brains of two ex-McDonald’s executives featuring fresh, healthy and veg-friendly ingredients.
