Vegetarian Star

Kellie Pickler is a vegetarian who’s been on PETA’s sexiest list for several years.

It’s hard to believe this American Idol alum used to work at a burger joint.

Her first job was a Sonic, and although it wasn’t enough to turn her vegetarian then, it taught her a lesson in remaining humble in the entertainment industry.

Pickler told MLive:

“I think everyone should experience what it’s like to work in the food industry. I think it changes the way you treat other people. There are people who can be really rude, and I don’t ever want to act like that toward someone else doing their job. But you have to put a smile on and try to get those tips, because if you don’t, you go home with nothing.”

These days she’s traded Sonic burgers for veggie ones.

“I’m not a total vegan where you don’t eat any animal products at all. I tried that for about a week with no eggs, butter or milk or anything and I couldn’t do it. I still eat fish, but I’ve not eaten any type of meat in years. Cheese is my greatest joy – I just love cheese. Cheddar is my favorite. I’m simple.”
