Stella McCartney Itsy Bitsy Falabella Tote From Own Sheep

Stella McCartney has always held high standards in fashion.
A longtime vegetarian, Stella never uses leather or fur in any of her fashions and sources labor from countries that pledge to promote healthy work environments for their employees.
It’s no surprise that one of her latest designs is one truly sustainable–a purse made from the wool of her own sheep.
The Itsy Bitsy Falabella tote, available online, was crafted from sheep that graze on Stella’s Cotswolds farm.
Itsy and Bitsy donated their wool to create a tote that resembles faux fur. It includes silver chain hardware, a silver Stella logo tag, a top snap closure and is lined with the Stella logo print nylon.
For bags that Itsy and Bitsy were not a part of the making of, Stella will only source wool from suppliers that do not practice mulesing, where excess skin is removed from the sheep’s hindquarters to prevent infection and fly strike. If the practice is necessary for the sheep’s welfare, Stella requires the sheep must be placed under anaesthetic.
