Seattle Weekly has a vegetarian holiday menu complements of Allrecipes.com, one of the largest databases for recipes.
Allrecipe.com content producer Sonja Groset told writer Gwendolyn Elliott the number one ingredient searched for on the site is “chicken,” but Elliot had no problem turning up an abundance of ideas for those fearing they’ve arrived at “chickenrecipes.com,” as Groset joked the site could be named.
Try the unique sounding “Portobello Pot Pie,” a vegan comfort food style meal featuring both shiitake and portobello mushrooms, potatoes and several seasonings and spices.
A recipe for Vegetarian Gravy might have even have the most carnivorous relatives you invite for the holidays begging for a slice of tofurky to complement it.
“This gravy looks easy to make and received nice reviews,” writes Elliot. “Every vegetarian cook has some version of this recipe, and this one also looks easy to modify to taste, if you wanted to incorporate shittakes for instance, or substitute Bragg’s or tamari for soy sauce.”
