PETA has a long tradition of using vegetables to promote sex, but Men’s Health is now jumping on the bandwagon.
In a recent online article, the magazine recommends a plant-based diet to men for a better sex life.
“Want to boost your sexual stamina? Just cut out meat, fish, and dairy from your diet,” the magazine writes.
Men’s Health gives three specific classes of foods that are suggested to improve sexual health and no, they’re not all phallic shaped.
Oatmeal and Other Grains: “Oats are packed with L-arginine, an amino acid that works with nitric oxide to reduce the stiffness of blood vessels. This amino acid has been used to treat erectile dysfunction, because it helps relax muscles around the penis’s blood vessels.”
Spinach and Leafy Greens: Another group of plant items known to dilate blood vessels, thanks to their magnesium content.
Grapefruit, Oranges and Peaches: The Vitamin C content of these citrus fruits may improve sperm quality, according to research at the University of Texas Medical Branch.
