Candy Crowley Of CNN To Moderate Presidential Debate

Candy Crowley is set to be the first female moderator of a presidential debate in 20 years.
The CNN State of the Union television show host is a conservative who’s been covering campaigns for years, including George H.W. Bush’s.
Crowley is a vegetarian who made the switch while on the campaign trail covering for the former president.
“I was on the campaign trail covering George H.W. Bush and grabbed a bite to eat at a little restaurant down South,” Crowley told Rachael Ray. “I ordered venison, but there was just something about how the meat looked. That was the last piece I ever put in my mouth. I’ve been vegetarian ever since.”
Because she’s such a busy journalist, Crowley prefers to eat simple, but healthy foods that do not require a lot of preparation.
“I’m a grab-and-go girl. My worst-case-scenario day involves waking up at 4:30 a.m. and getting home after Anderson Cooper’s show at 11 p.m. My staples are Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, protein shakes and peanut butter. Sometimes I even forget to eat. My BlackBerry beeps at dinnertime as a reminder.”
Hats off to this history maker for bringing a lady into the presidential debate ring after decades. Could she also be setting a record for the first vegetarian to do so?
