“The Great Food Truck Race” To Get Prickly And Vegan Soon

An upcoming episode of The Great Food Truck Race will have the contestants cooking vegan on the road!
The August 26th premiere titled “Attitude at High Altitude” has Tyler Florence and the team traveling to Flagstaff, Arizona, cooking with some rather unusual “local” ingredients.
The teams are asked to prepare a delicacy, prickly pear cactus. We hear the fruit is extremely delicious, presenting a taste that’s a cross between bubble-gum and watermelon. It can be used to make jam and candies, but also thrown in salad vinaigrettes and as a flavoring for baked goods and desserts.
The next day, Tyler asks everyone to do it vegan style!
Who’s heading home for the evening? Hopefully, the candidates who complain the most about having to cook without animal products.
Attitude at High Altitude can be seen on Food Network, August 26th at 9 PM.
