Bob Marley Gets Caribbean Crustacean Named In His Honor

Creatures and the famous go together like vegan cookies and soy milk.
The latest in the other than human living kingdom to be paired with a celebrity name is a crustacean named Gnathia marleyi, named after the late Bob Marley.
“I named this species, which is truly a natural wonder, after Marley because of my respect and admiration for Marley’s music,” Paul Sikkel, an assistant professor of marine ecology at Arkansas State University, said in a statement.
“Plus, this species is as uniquely Caribbean as was Marley.”
Add the rastafarian Gnathia marleyi to the rocking Johnny Marr‘s Sarracenia Johnny Marr and you’d probably make a pretty good demo tape.
Unlike both the musicians, however, both Gnarly marley and Sarracenia are blood-sucking meat eaters.
