Mike Tyson Not A Cheater

Mike Tyson

Mike Tyson has surpassed his four year vegan anniversary and the relationship between him, lentils and grains couldn’t be stronger.

Although he’s admitted in the past to missing some of his favorite candy bars, Tyson told a reporter in a recent interview, he’s not even considering letting his lips touch another…product that’s animal-based.

Are you still a vegan?
Yes, I’ve been a vegan for four years.

And you’ve never cheated?
No, no, no, no, no. That’s not the way I want to live my life. I don’t want to cheat.

Tyson has revealed in previous interviews that his diet has made him a more mellow man. As expected, it’s also made him the butt of a few media jokes (he’s only biting off the ears of corn now).

Are you a vegan who would ever consider cheating (grandma’s apple pie at Christmas)? Or do you stay the course like Iron Mike?

In the 8 years that I was a vegetarian I never once thought about ‘cheating.’ I could never eat flesh again.
But in the 4 years that I have been vegan there has been a few moments where I have wanted to cave. It’s occasions where I am out to eat with other people where I feel myself caving. We aren’t perfect, we are all human so I don’t beat myself up over it anymore. Granted I’ve only caved twice in my 4 years. And by cave, I mean I didn’t check with the waiter or figure out for certain that bread or popcorn was 100% vegan.

Others that play vegan cop and look down on people who fudge a bit should think of it this way: someone cheating every so often is still living a vegan lifestyle and sharing the wonders of cruelty-free with others. That person is saving hundreds of more animals than someone who gives up or never tries since they believe the terminology is so cut and dry.

    just my two cents.
