Whole Living, a part of Martha Stewart‘s owned media company, Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia Inc., has launched a smoothie app that is available on iTunes.
The app features smoothie recipes for weight loss, detox and pure taste enjoyment!
Stewart is a veg-friendly diva, and the app includes several recipes for smoothies that incorporate plant-based proteins, such as one for tofu and berries like the Power Protein Smoothie.
- 2 cups mixed berries, (fresh or frozen)
- 1 cup silken tofu
- 1/4 cup pomegranate juice
- 2 to 3 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons ground flaxseed
- 1 teaspoon finely grated peeled ginger
Directions
In a blender, combine berries, tofu, pomegranate juice, 2 tablespoons honey, flaxseed, and ginger. Blend until smooth, 15 to 20 seconds. Adjust the sweetness if neccessary.
A total of 36 smoothie recipes are included in the app, and recipes are categorized for special needs, such as allergies and specific intentions, such as “Meal in a Glass.” How-to videos, room to make your own notes and a Food Glossary describing 50 key smoothie ingredients are also present.
There’s also the ability to share your favorite smoothie recipes on Facebook and tips on buying organic ingredients.
