PETA Names Top Veg Friendly Ballparks

If you root, root, root for the home team and they don’t win, it’s a shame. If you’re hungry while your rooting for the home team because the only vegetarian item at the ballpark is the bottled water, that’s an even bigger shame.
But that’s not the case anymore. Some of the biggest major and minor league baseball teams play in veg-friendly ballparks. And PETA has just unveiled its annual list of best parks to score a meatless home run.
Fort Myers Miracle’s Hammond Stadium pays homage to not only a legend in baseball, but a great public face to vegetarianism and animal welfare as well. The Tony LaRussa Dog is a veggie take on traditional monster meat sandwiches. It features a veggie burger wrapped around a veggie dog and topped with mushrooms, olives, and vegan shredded cheese. This must be why the stadium made it to home base in the minor league division.
Vegan Rice Krispie treats are sweeter than a home run, and the Philadelphia Phillies’ Citizens Bank Park offers vegan fans these in addition to breaded faux chicken sandwiches, faux steak sandwiches, black bean burgers and hummus with pita chips. Citizen’s Bank Park took home 2nd base on PETA’s list in major league ballparks.
