Brandon Routh Move Over–Real Vegan Superpowers Discovered
Written by Vegetarian Star on April 1st, 2011 in Food & Drink, Research + Science.
Brandon Routh may have played a vegan with superpowers in the Scott Pilgrim movie, but a team of researchers from both the FDA and several universities have discovered people eating vegan diets may indeed gain abilities that their meat-eating peers lack.
These newly discovered abilities are in addition to the health benefits a vegan diet bestows, which the USDA has recently recognized as a healthy option in its nutrition guide.
Fifteen people were placed on a plant-based diet for several years and were tested for various abilities in comparison to omnivores and vegetarians.
The vegans showed remarkable ability to perform feats the omnivores and vegetarians could not, such as flying and teleporting themselves around the room. These abilities were destroyed while wearing leather items. The only vegan that was unable to perform these feats was later discovered to have occasional dairy milkshakes.
“These findings may be the gateway to a new branch of medicine, not to mention a key to a new step in the human evolution,” said Dr. Lee Acosta-Lewis of the Department of Health and Human Services.”
You can read the full report at Care2. But before you do, remember not everything you read on the Internet is true. Even when it says vegans are doing incredible things. Especially on April 1st.
