One company offering several non-dairy drinks may lead the way to more Americans incorporating soy, almond and coconut beverages into their everyday eating routines.
Silk is offering a 10-day challenge where it asks customers to use its soy, almond and coconut milk products in place of dairy for a little over a week to see how easy it is to cook, eat and drink without cow’s milk.
For each day of the challenge, Silk offers suggestions on how to incorporate the non-dairy beverages into cooking, such as muffins, lattes, smoothies, french toast and even items that still contain animal products like quiche or seafood. There are 10 suggestions–one of every day of the challenge–for three categories of milk consumers Silk is targeting: Simple, Everyday Swaps, Swaps For Busy Families and Swaps for the home chef.
Silk also provides a nutritional comparison of its products to dairy milk. Most of Silk’s products provide the same amount of calcium, with no cholesterol and added nutritional benefits, such as Omega-3 fatty acids.
On its website, Silk offers video stories of actual individuals and families who took the challenge, like the Dobrich family.
