The UN General Assembly has designated March 22 of every year as World Water Day.
The day draws attention to the basic necessity so many people worldwide have trouble accessing or sanitizing. Besides not eating meat and dairy, you can do your part to conserve water by ditching the plastic bottle and picking up a snazzy, reusable bottle like this one by Stella McCartney.
This 1-liter capacity bottle is 100% stainless steel with a leopard print and Adidas by Stella McCartney logo on the side. It functions for all your beverage needs, as it keeps warm liquids warm and cold liquids cold.
The bottle will set you back by $75, but that’s a small price compared to what you may be spending on bottled water.
Based on the average cost of a 1-liter bottle of water, some estimates put the average bottled water drinker as spending $60 a month on bottled water!
And when it comes to helping those in other parts of the globe where water isn’t as easy to come by, the price of one case of bottled water can supply one person in that country with clean drinking water for 5 years.
Below is a clip from TheWaterProject.org about a taste test between bottled water and tap done by one city in the United States. You may be surprised by the results.
