Oscars Governor’s Ball Bash Brings Vegetarian Paella
Written by Vegetarian Star on February 28th, 2011 in Food & Drink, Recipes.

Wolfgang Puck has once again took charge of the catering for the annual post Oscar bash.
Puck saw to it that a vegetarian paella was put on the list for the likes of stars like Natalie Portman, who won Best Actress in a Leading Role for Black Swan.
Paella is a rice-based dish that originated in the Valencia region of Spain that may contain ingredients even many carnivores wouldn’t dream of eating.
Likes snails. Eww!
Puck’s Paella is snail-free, animal stock-free and guilt free.
A key component of paella is often the sofrito, a combination of aromatic ingredients that are sauteed in olive oil. The Oscar paella uses red and yellow peppers, onions and garlic as the sofrito base for a meal that mixes long or medium grain rice with vegetables and a fava bean topping.
Is Puck’s vegetarian paella worthy of an Oscar? Open the envelope to find out.
