President’s Day Red, White And Blue Vegan Smoothie

President’s Day is one of those sorta Happy Holidays.

Not that it’s not fun to honor George Washington. But it can also be a time of inconvenience when important offices are closed (like banks) and non-important ones stay open (like yours that you still have to report to on Monday).

Now’s the time to make a trip to the important bank and withdraw enough cash to purchase a few ingredients for a vegan, President’s Day smoothie.

The berries on top aren’t the only things representing the flag’s colors.

This shake has three layers–red, white and blue–created by frozen raspberies or strawberries, frozen blueberries and bananas whipped with soy milk and sweetened with agave or maple syrup.

No, you don’t need to get your bifocals adjusted. Those are coconut flakes on top.

Vegetarian Star would suggest changing the arrangement of your berries to make Mr. Shake look a little happier, though. From the expression in this photo, it looks like he has to work on President’s Day.
