Bo Obama, First Dog, Receives Vegan Treats From PETA

Bo Obama, America’s first dog, has been exceptionally good this year by not chewing up the first lady’s dinner party shoes and as a reward, he’s getting some vegan dog treats from PETA.
In a letter addressed to Michelle, PETA’s president Ingrid Newkirk also reminds the first family that a harness might make Bo more comfortable during walks.
“As animal rights advocates, we would be remiss if we didn’t make sure that Bo got a gift basket from PETA headquarters here in Washington,” the letter says.
“The basket includes assorted vegan dog treats, a harness (which will make walks with Bo more comfortable for everyone), a penguin-shaped squeaky toy, and a copy of my book Let’s Have a Dog Party!, which includes “promise coupons” for doggie outings and scratches behind the ears. Here’s wishing everyone in your family a merry Christmas and a happy new year.”
If your pup is on Santa’s nice list, there are numerous brands of vegan and vegetarian dog treats you can reward him or her with, like Boston Baked Bonz, Dr. Harvey’s, Mr. Barky’s and our favorite of the day, Max & Ruffy’s Organic and Vegan Dog Treats.
Max & Ruffy’s will bring pizza delivery to your dog with their “W.P. Pizza” variety consisting of “antioxidant-rich tomato paste with parsley, oregano, and garlic” in a treat filled with “Italian zest.” You can also choose from the 5-Star Blueberry, the Molasses Explosion and more!
