Phil Collen Marries Helen Simmons In Vegetarian, Eco-Friendly Way

Def Leppard guitarist Phil Collen recently married Helen L. Simmons and the two tied the knot in a vegetarian, eco-friendly event.
Since Collen has been a vegetarian for 27 years, the alcohol-free reception featured an organic vegetarian and vegan menu. Instead of sending paper invitations, invites to the big day were given via Paperless Post brand emails.
“We didn’t intentionally start out trying to have green wedding,” said Collen. “But since it’s a natural part of our lifestyle to respect the environment, everything flowed pretty naturally.”
It’s not known whether Simmons is a vegetarian or not.
Collen didn’t wait long to marry for the third time. The ceremony came just 9 days after his divorce with 2nd wife Anita Thomas Collen, according to the Daily Mail.
Given his commitment to the environment, it’s understandable that Collen wanted to remarry as soon as possible, though, as a study shows married households are greener because they use resources more efficiently than divorced ones do.
