Mark Ruffalo A Rebel With A Garden Cause
Written by Vegetarian Star on July 5th, 2010 in Actors, Gardening.
As a seasoned actor, Mark Ruffalo doesn’t mind the cameras and director’s orders, but he’s just as comfortable with the soil and the hoe.
The actor told the New York Times, he enjoys spending time in his garden in Sullivan County, New York that is currently home to corn, zucchini and tomatoes.
“Wendell Berry says the greatest act of independence and rebellion is to maintain a garden,” Ruffalo said, of the author of Bring It To The Table: On Farming and Food. “You’re taking yourself out of a kind of capitalist culture and you’re making a point of self-sustenance.”
