If you’re the Twilight enthusiast who wants to walk through the virtual steps of where Bella and Edward fell in love, an article at the Canadian Canoe gives readers a glimpse into the real life bookstores, restaurants and more of where the vegetarian vampires interacted with mortal humans.
Bella Italia restaurant is located in Port Angeles, a coastal town between Seattle and Forks in Washington, where Bella and Edward had dinner. Bella, the real vegetarian who doesn’t eat people or animals, ordered the mushroom ravioli, a dish that was normally a seasonal item at the establishment.
Bella Italia had been in business for 14 years before writer Stephenie Meyer called to ask what offerings were available that she could fit into her character’s palate.
“She called us during the fall, the mushroom season in the Olympic Peninsula region. It’s during this season that we serve the mushroom ravioli dish. Since Bella is a vegetarian, it’s what she decided to eat while dining with Edward”, says Neil Conklin, the owner of the restaurant.
The restaurant’s website highlights the movie event that brought them worldwide fame and the “Bella’s Mushroom Ravioli” is listed as a pasta dish served “in creamy besciamella with Olympic Forest mushrooms.”
