Rudi's Organic Buns
Good Housekeeping has named Rudi’s Organic Buns as the best choice for a whole wheat hamburger bun.
Of course, we know you’ll only be putting veggie burgers between slices of the company’s organic breads, some of which are gluten-free, most of which are also vegan, but there are a few breads–the Honey Sweet Whole Wheat, European Multigrain, Spelt Tortillas and Whole Spelt Tortillas–that contain honey.
Good Housekeeping says the taste testers appreciated the “real whole wheat flavor” in the buns which are priced at approximately $4.39 for a package of 8. Rudi’s beat out well known companies like Sara Lee and Pepperidge Farm. Besides buns, the company offers a vast selection of loaves, tortillas, bagels and English Muffins.
Good Housekeeping adds, “Whole grains are packed with fiber, protein, and other nutrients, and can lower your odds of developing heart disease and type 2 diabetes if you eat three ounces of them every day. Sandwiching your favorite burger in a whole wheat bun is an easy way to incorporate whole grains into your family’s diet.”
