Hey, Elen, show us your melons!
Sounds slightly sexist, but if it gets people to eat more plant-based meals, it can’t be that bad.
Spanish model Elen Rivas has posed in a new PETA ad unveiled just in time for National Vegetarian Week.
“Spanish Melons: One More Reason to Go Vegetarian” the ad, showing Rivas sitting on a shelf containing a variety of fruits and vegetables, reads.
The mother of two daughters, Luna and Isla, says the diet has brought many benefits not only to her, but her family as well.
“Going vegetarian was one of the best decisions my girls and I have made. It’s had a positive impact on us on so many different levels”, Elen says. “It’s healthier, we feel much more alive and we have so much fun cooking delicious meat-free meals!”
In case Rivas’ great figure with strategically placed fruits isn’t enough to convince you to go veg, just read the fine print at the bottom of the ad.
“Vegetarians are, on average, slimmer than meat-eaters and have lower rates of heart disease and cancer.”
