Yves Potvin, Gardein Founder, Makes A Lot Of Lists
Written by Vegetarian Star on March 31st, 2011 in Business, Food & Drink.
If you ever wanted to know all the personal details of the guy behind one of the most popular faux meat products, Gardein, The Globe and Mail is giving you the chance to do so.
Apparently, one of Yves Potvin‘s idosyncrasies is that he likes to make lists. Lots of them.
The list of items that resulted in his first major vegetarian product line, Yves Veggie Cuisine, had much to do with the increasing need for healthier, convenient food.
Two points from one of the lists he drafted earlier in Yves Veggie development:
1. Working mothers wanted convenient foods. They have no time to cook.
2. Cholesterol was becoming a big concern.
One of the items on his list for the interview with Globe and Mail was to make sure the interviewer knew how to pronounce Gardein correctly. Like protein. But without the meat source.
Gotta love this guy.
