Meatless Mouthful: Stella McCartney Calls Fashion “Heartless”
Written by Vegetarian Star on October 6th, 2009 in Fashion, Meatless Mouthful.
“I find it astounding, because fashion is supposed to be about change – I mean, we’re supposed to be about cutting edge! I can only think they don’t care as much as people in other industries. So, yes, I think people in fashion are pretty heartless. Why on earth would they use fur and leather otherwise?
“There’s no excuse for fur in this day and age. Baby kids are boiled alive. Foxes are anally electrocuted. If that’s not heartless, what is?”
—-vegetarian fashion designer Stella McCartney, on the fashion industry’s archaic and cruel use of fur and leather in clothing.
Rock on, Stella. You tell ’em!

I don’t know about heartless but I’d call most people in the industry bimbos and dumbasses.
Stella is probably one of the most educated people in the industry. Let’s face it, do most people that you know with above average intelligence or education obsess over “front pockets” “calf height” or “fall palates.”
Stella is different in that she chose to put intellect and ethics into her hobby and has profited well from that.
I fear the only way to get the other dumbasses in line is to create laws that forbid them to use such material.
