Comments Off on Mary McCartney PB & J Replacement–Peanut Butter & Pickle
Mary McCartney‘s favorite vegetarian snack is an old standby–peanut butter and jelly, something she learned to love from watching Sesame Street.
And although PB & J sandwiches make a great item to carry in school lunches, McCartney says she doesn’t force her lifestyle on her children, even though they have chosen to be vegetarian.
“They don’t have to be,” McCartney said. “It would be their choice. I don’t like to force it on people. I don’t like to be told what to do, so I don’t like to tell them what to do.”
PB & J may be older than Big Bird, but there are numerous variations of the sandwich you can try when things get boring.

Comments Off on Bob Irwin Unhappy With Australia Treatment Of Dingos

Bob Irwin
Bob Irwin suffered a heart attack in March, and has used the opportunity to re-evaluate his priorities. The father of the late Steve Irwin says he wants to focus on environmental conservation and caring for injured wildlife.
One area of animal welfare that concerns him is Australia’s wild dogs, known as dingoes. Current laws prohibit people from feeding the dogs, citing that feeding them makes them less fearful of humans and more likely to attack. But Irwin is disturbed by the numbers of thin and malnourished dogs he sees and wants other options to ensure their health and survival.

Comments Off on Cat Cora Shrek Protein Smoothie With Soy Milk

Cat Cora has a morning regime we all could benefit from–breakfast that consists of vitamin rich fruits and vegetables, omega rich nuts and heart healthy soy.
“We do protein smoothies in the morning,” the chef told WebMD. “Here’s how to make them: Add some fresh baby spinach, frozen mango chunks, five or six almonds, a little soy milk, a little juice if you like, some protein powder, and blend it up. Delicious! We love it around the house. We call it a Shrek drink to get the boys to drink it. And they do!”
Might we suggest using Tony Gonzalez‘s All-Pro-Science vegan protein powder from hemp, pea and brown rice protein in Cora’s shake?

Comments Off on Meatless Mouthful–Mark Bittman Says Meat, Oil Industry Are Twins

“Like oil, meat is subsidized by the federal government. Like oil, meat is subject to accelerating demand as nations become wealthier, and this, in turn, sends prices higher. Finally — like oil — meat is something people are encouraged to consume less of, as the toll exacted by industrial production increases, and becomes increasingly visible.”
