Gangsta’s Paradise went gourmet when Coolio released a cookbook in 2009 titled, “Cookin’ With Coolio: 5 Star Meals At A 1 Star Price.”
Coolio’s book happens to have an entire chapter devoted to vegetarians as well as one titled “Salad Eatin-Bitches” for those that aren’t interested in “Pimpin’ the Poultry.”
If you’re still trying to contain your laughter, you should also know this book received an average of 4.5/5 stars by reviewers on Amazon who also had pleasant things to say about how well the book actually teaches cooking skills, something also illustrated in Coolio’s web-based cooking show, “Cooking With Coolio.”

Comments Off on Hana Nitsche Nervous But Still Goes Naked For PETA

Heidi Klum‘s protege and second runner up in Germany’s Next Top Model, Hana Nitsche, grew up in the Czech Republic around many animals, so she can’t imagine wearing any of them.
“We had chickens, pigs and sheep running around–it was almost like a little farm,” Nitsche said.
Nitsche told Fox411 she was incredibly shy for the shoot, despite being a natural in front of the camera.
“I get so nervous and shy, you would not even believe it’s the same girl from the pictures.”

Comments Off on Meatless Mouthful–“Food Inc.” Director Robert Kenner On Local Vs. Organic

“I think we need local foods. They might not all be organic. One of the real problems is that all regulations favor bigger business so there are a lot of organic small producers that can’t afford to get certification. Right now about 2% of our food is organic. It’s the fastest growing segment. I think that local is just as important if not more important. And there’s a site, by the way, for your readers. It’s called the Dirty Dozen. It’s the 12 worst things to eat [non-organically]. You don’t want to eat industrial versions of these 12 items.”
—Robert Kenner, director of Food Inc. Buying local before organic can save money and fuel used to transport food across the country. But there may be some foods you always want to buy organic, due to the amount of pesticides retained on their surfaces after they’ve been picked. Which fruits and veggies are dirtiest? View the list yourself to find out and always buy those organic to avoid consuming produce known to carry the highest pesticide residues.

Shiri Appleby has back stabbed vegans in the super bitchiest of ways.
A former vegan who used to castigate co-stars about their diet went back to eating animals because she thought this would increase her dating ability.
Her current boyfriend, Jon Shook, is the owner of a restaurant called Animal which features delights like pig ears, foie gras and rabbit legs on the menu. Yes, you know it’s going to get worse.
From the New York Times:
“Jon Shook, an owner of Animal, the meat- and fat-centric restaurant in Los Angeles, becomes effusive when he talks about coaxing his girlfriend, Shiri Appleby, a television actress and a former vegan, into eating his fried pork chops. “She’s like 110 pounds, maybe, in wet clothes, and when she’s with me, we eat everything and anything,” he said on the phone. “On our first date, I was like, ‘Hey, why’d you stop being a vegan?’ And she was like, ‘What kind of guy’s going to date a vegan?’ And I was like, ‘You’re awesome.’ ”
And we even wished this chick a happy birthday.
A veg man wrote an open letter to Appleby crushing her carnivorous narcissism.

Comments Off on President’s Day Red, White And Blue Vegan Smoothie

President’s Day is one of those sorta Happy Holidays.
Not that it’s not fun to honor George Washington. But it can also be a time of inconvenience when important offices are closed (like banks) and non-important ones stay open (like yours that you still have to report to on Monday).
Now’s the time to make a trip to the important bank and withdraw enough cash to purchase a few ingredients for a vegan, President’s Day smoothie.

In April, Jake Shields will have the ultimate opportunity to advance his career at UFC 129 when he faces current UFC welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre.
If there’s anytime to watch the diet, it’s now, but Shields isn’t planning on doing things much differently than the way he’s been living all his life.
“I cook my own food. Sometimes my brother cooks my food,” Shields, who enjoys late night snacks of crackers and hummus, said. “I’ve thought about hiring a chef before a fight. I’m thinking about getting a vegan chef and trying it out.”
Here’s an example of what someone who’s never lost a UFC fight eats daily.

Plant-based power is well represented in the MMA world and Yahoo Sports recently discussed the dietary habits of three well known fighters in the community, Jake Shields, Mac Danzig and Jon Fitch.
Fitch took up vegetarianism after discovering it’s a lot easier to buy groceries living on $800 a month when you skip the meat aisle. Given his previous habits, we’re sure he learned quickly that a dollar spent on a steady diet of steak wouldn’t stretch far.
“I would eat three meals a day with meat, and meat was the main part of every meal. I’d eat two steaks for dinner almost every night,” Fitch said of his former lifestyle.
