Tuesday’s episode of The Talk will feature vegan family cooking tips and ideas.

Host and actress Sara Gilbert was a vegetarian for two decades and then became a vegan. Before The Talk premiered, Gilbert had said food and nutrition were so important to her,  she definitely wanted to give the issues some time on the show.

Dr. T. Colin Campbell, author of the best selling book about the link between diseases of affluence and meat, The China Study, was a guest on Real Time with Bill Maher to discuss the film Forks Over Knives and the idea of eating less meat for good health.

“It’s the story of one of the best kept secrets in healthcare that I can think of,” Campbell said. “It’s what food can do for us.”

The officials from the Miss Florida USA pageant announced they will no longer award a mink coat to the winner of the competition. No one could be more happier about this decision than Tim Gunn, Project Runway host and anti-fur activist who’s recorded a PSA for PETA against the fur industry.

Gunn took the time to write a letter to the executive producer of the Miss Florida USA pageant, Grant H. Gravitt Jr., thanking him for the ban.

“I went with a friend to [California’s] Santa Monica Pier. We were idly watching a guy fishing; he reeled in a fish, and the poor thing was gasping and writhing. I thought, I’m going to take a break from the animal-killing thing. I still think about the fish, and wish I could communicate to that spirit how many lives it saved.”

Martha Quinn, well-known 80s pop culture icon who was one of the original MTV VJs. Quinn’s entire family is vegetarian–even the dogs. Quinn’s Q & A can be found in the July/August 2011 issue of Vegetarian Times.

Sophia Bush has shared some of her favorite foods with Shape magazine.

Although she usually aims for foods with high nutritional content, occasionally she’ll indulge with her favorite ice cream.

“It’s all about balance — it is important to maintain a healthy diet of whole grains, fruits and vegetables, but it’s also important to enjoy yourself once in a while, and sometimes that means letting yourself give in to your cravings, whatever they may be,” Sophia said.

Growing up, everyone had a favorite meal they’d routinely request from chef mom.

Bethenny Frankel’s toddler Brynn may not always be able to vocalize what she wants yet, but not spitting up or throwing these lentil burgers in mom’s face is a sure sign she’s happy with what Bethenny is serving from the home menu.
