Dancing With The Stars premiers tonight between 8 and 10 PM EST on ABC.

Do you already have your favorite contestant in mind?

There are so many favorites to choose from, like Mya, who went vegetarian to get in shape and lost 11 pounds for the competition.

There’s also Kelly Osbourne, who, although rumored to be a flip flop vegetarian, attended the launch of Paul McCartney‘s Meat-Free Monday campaign to get people to reduce their meat intake.

Then there’s Joanna Krupa, who posed in this popular anti-fur ad.

Last year, a spoof PETA ad was recorded by the DWTS contestants, where some “facts” about the cruelties of the dancing industry were revealed.

Michelle Obama Visits New Farmers Market In Washington DC

The White House Farmer’s Market opened this weekend and drew a good crowd, even during the rain and cold, according to grist.com.

First Lady Michelle Obama made an appearance and was happy the turnout was so good.

“I’ve never seen so many people so excited about fruits and vegetables!” Michelle said.

Wonder if anyone asked her to sign a carrot?

“A farmer’s market is not just about vegetables, it’s about community,” Michelle added.

The First Lady was the first customer and chose produce from The Farm at Sunnyside, an organic producer from Rappahannock, Virginia.

No mention of Mr. Obama attending the Farmer’s Market.

Maybe he was out for another burger run.

The Farmer’s Market will run until October 29.

2007 Projekt Revolution Tour

Fred Mascherino took a moment to Tweet his love for breakfast food at the Chicago Diner.

“Vegan French toast the The Chicago Diner- kickin’ ass!”

Chicagoans know Chicago Diner has the best in vegan and vegetarian home style breakfast items like tofu mock egg scrambles, seitan sausages, and biscuits with vegan gravy.

And Fred’s not the only celebrity to order off the menu.

Ellen DeGeneres likes the Diner’s seitan hot wings so much, she had them Fed’exed to her studios in California.

Eh, yeah we know it’s not so green to fly food that far.

But hey, the food was vegan so it took some of the weight off Ellen’s footprint.

For a more environmentally friendly way to enjoy the Diner’s hot wings, take a train to the Windy City on a road trip and stock  up on meals like Sweet and Sour Tofu, vegan Chicago Style Hot Doggs, and Parmesan “Chickin” Caesar salad.

Ozzfest 2005

Brian Fair of Shadow’s Fall got the chance to have dinner with a fellow metal band member Randy Blythe of Lamb of God.

Randy remembered his vegetarian guests and made a special meal of tofu Marsala to please them.

But Brian still wasn’t satisfied, according to roadrunnerrecords.com.

“And while we were there, we were like, “Ya gotta sing,” ya know?” Brian said. “You can’t just make dinner and leave.” So, we had him sing a couple lines on that one song since that’s what we were working on that day and it just worked out perfect.”

If you want to try your hand at tofu Marsala, give the recipe after the break a try.

And be ready in case the family wants you to sing.

Alexandra Paul-Other Baywatch Babe-Is Vegetarian Too

Written by Vegetarian Star on Saturday, September 19th, 2009 in Actresses, Environment-Eco-Green, Food & Drink.

Laugh Out Loud Comedy Benefit For Lifeworks Mentoring

Everybody knows Pamela Anderson shows her goodies in the name of animals, but do you remember Lt. Stephanie Holden, the other hot lifeguard from Baywatch?

Alexandra Paul is 46 and vegetarian strong, thanks to a book she read when she was 14 called Diet for a Small Planet.

She told Vegetarian Times in the October 2009 issue:

“I read Diet For a Small Plant when I was 14, just when I was formulating my ethics and “inhaling” new information. i wanted to be a good person and make a difference in the world. Vegetarian seemed to fit both bills.”

Knowing vegetarianism and environmentalism go hand in hand, Alexandra also does her part to help the planet. She co-wrote and produced Jam Packed, a documentary about overpopulation and appeared in the 2006 documentary Who Killed The Electric Car?

Donate Life Concert Series: Michelle Branch and Jason Castro

Michelle Branch admits she’s less than a perfect eater.

During a 25 things about myself post, Michelle said:

“I am a vegetarian but when I’m hung over I sneak bacon at breakfast and later deny it happening.”

And a later post on her blog, she revealed missing the home cooked meals of her mother sometimes made her go south.

“It all started on a road trip to Northern California. I had no idea what was in store for me as I innocently drove past In-N-Out burger. I can imagine if you grew up vegetarian, the idea of eating meat is unfathomable. But if you grew up with the marvelous food my mother prepared, divulging in a luxuriously rich Bolognese (with red wine of course) or once in a while a greasy hot dog out of a NYC street cart, after three years you would start to relapse too. One double-double animal style later and my tree-hugging hippy eating ways went out the window. I fell hard and hit every branch on the way down.”

But Michelle is trying to promote better eating, and even invited her fans to view Food Inc.

Here’s Michelle showing the yoga moves that will hopefully give her peace and strength to continue on the right diet path in the Posers: Yogastyles of the Movers and Shakers series.

Miami Dolphins v Denver Broncos

Miami Dolphins running back Ricky Williams knows even with being a vegetarian, your body can’t play professional football forever.

That’s why he plans to become a doctor of osteopathic medicine, according to palmbeachpost.com.

Wowsers!

Athletic, intelligent, and vegetarian?

What’s his marital status again?

The cool thing about osteopathic medicine is that it takes a holistic approach to being healthy, versus relying on medicine to treat ailments.

The eight main principles of the discipline are as follows:

1. The body is a unit.
2. Structure and function are reciprocally inter-related.
3. The body possesses self-regulatory mechanisms.
4. The body has the inherent capacity to defend and repair itself.
5. When the normal adaptability is disrupted, or when environmental changes overcome the body’s capacity for self maintenance, disease may ensue.
6. The movement of body fluids is essential to the maintenance of health.
7. The nerves play a crucial part in controlling the fluids of the body.
8. There are somatic components to disease that are not only manifestations of disease, but also are factors that contribute to maintenance of the disease state.

We are really liking number #4 and we hope Ricky teaches his patients the best way to use their body to defend and repair themselves is by choosing a veg diet, which can help prevent dozens of diseases, including the big killers of diabetes, heart disease, abdominal obesity, and cancer.

Can we get a Dr. Ricky Williams in the house as soon as possible?
