Comments Off on Taraji P. Henson Takes Off Clothes For PETA Anti-Fur Ad (Video)
This week must be the week to get naked in the name of saying “No” to fur.
Earlier we brought you the news of the NFL’s Willis McGahee’s nude anti-fur ad and now, we present you with Academy Award nominated actress Taraji P. Henson, who’s had roles in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and Tyler Perry’s I Can Do Bad All By Myself.
“I don’t think a living being should suffer for the sake of fashion, period,” Henson said. “End of story.”
“When I realized what went into—not just, we’re not just even talking about a full-length fur coat, I’m talking about just … fur on your gloves or on your jacket or—what goes into making that little piece of fur ripped my heart out. And as humans, we have control. What if someone said, ‘Black skin is the new fur’?”
The behind the scenes video interview with Henson can be viewed below.
Erin McKenna, the owner of BabyCakes bakeries that offer vegan, gluten-free desserts in New York and Los Angeles that have become popular among vegan and non-vegan celebrities, is set to release her 2nd cookbook, BabyCakes Covers the Classics.
Publishers Weekly‘s Dale Goldberg is giving the book, which McKenna promised to throw in recipes for vegan donuts, pancakes and even non-dessert items like mac and cheese, the thumbs up–when those thumbs aren’t busy holding snickerdoodle cookies.
During one of his comedic performances, Sparks made humor of poor diets consisting of too many animal products. But in an interview he reveals the effects of raising animals for food is no laughing matter.
“The biggest issue for me is factory farming,” Sparks. “Because I can’t find an angle on it–and I dare anyone else to–that actually supports it in any way. It doesn’t make food cheaper and safer. It doesn’t make the environment better. It harms the people who consume it as well as the people who process it. And it’s horrible to the animals.”
What’s Sparks’ advice for the dying individual who wishes he’d had more time to spend with the family? Watch the clip below to find out.
Kanye West‘s attempts to turn residents in the Chicagoland area into burger lovers has failed.
West’s company, KW Foods, LLC, developed 10 Fat Burger restaurants in the region, but after a year and a half of doing burger business, the first of the restaurants has already closed due to financial performance.
Did West not pick up on the trend that Americans are just not that into meat anymore?
“Sure, you could be an honest person who tells lies all the time but I don’t think we need to get into whether such a thing disqualifies you or not but what we can say is this: We know it is indisputably the number one cause of global warming. So what does it mean exactly to be an environmentalist on a daily basis if you are not thinking about the number one cause of global warming or one of the top two or three causes of all other environmental problems?”
The actor appeared on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” to bring her a large, vegan red velvet cake for Ellen’s 53rd birthday.
According to Ecorazzi, the cake was especially baked for Ellen by Sweet Lady Jane bakery in West Hollywood. This is the same bakery that made Ellen’s wedding cake, which was also the red velvet variety.
Good to know the sweet lady Jane is so flexible and vegan friendly!
