Comments Off on Meatless Mouthful–Dax Shepard Says Vegan Made Life 15% Better
“It’s nothing like the pill in The Matrix but damn good, like 15 percent across the board in every respect. I sleep 15 percent better. My allergies are at least 15 percent better. I have fewer body aches. My skin looks better. I’m never starving, and I never need to ride the couch feeling completely full and disgusting.”
Comments Off on Moby Says Vegans And Omnivores Can Now Eat And Get Along
Moby thinks omnivores and vegetarians can live happily ever after.
At least in today’s times.
Vegan musician and activist gave his thoughts to the New York Times about how different it was for mixed eaters to share the same restaurant due to lack of options on both dieting community’s parts.
No vegan was going to settle for chicken wings. But most omnivores didn’t find the kale krunch plate to be the most appetizing either.

Comments Off on Amanda Cohen On Changing Cookbook Values And The Internet
Amanda Cohen has a brand new cookbook out with more than just recipes. There are also illustrations, comics and musings about the restaurant industry.
According to the owner and chef at NYC’s vegetable restaurant Dirt Candy, such a diverse selection of material is needed to make a cookbook more valuable these days as the Internet has given them some competition.
“For me, the internet has changed the whole recipe delivery system,” Cohen told Blisstree. “When I’m looking for versions of a recipe I go online first, not to my bookshelf. A cookbook can’t just list a bunch of recipes and have that be enough anymore. Maybe as an artifact, but it’s not a useful book.”
The WWE athlete claims this is no longer feasible because he’s develop soy sensitivities.
“I became a vegan for health issues and then I developed a soy intolerance. So, I’ve been getting really sick lately. it’s a very unmanly way to stop being vegan, to have a soy intolerance. [Laughs.] But I was getting sick all the time, and they were trying to figure out what it was and they found out it was the soy.”
“Being on the road, being vegan and trying to get your protein in other than soy, there’s just nothing to eat. There’s soy in everything. Most of the vegan things you can eat are tofu dishes and whatnot, made out of soy.”
Comments Off on “Vamps” Trailer With Alicia Silverstone Krysten Ritter (Video)
Alicia Silverstone‘s latest film Vamps is set for release this November and the trailer to the film is now available.
Silverstone and Krysten Ritter play two gorgeous single ladies who live life to the fullest like any other bachelorette–bars, dating, parties, sleeping in coffins as well as the occasional vampire indulgence.
Okay. So maybe they’re not so typical singles after all.
While filming Vamps in the Detroit area, Silverstone got the chance to sample lots of vegan goodies from shops nearby. Inn Season Cafe and What Crepe? were two places she dug her fangs into between filming.
Comments Off on Billy Corgan ZuZu’s Delivers Fantastic Vegan Chocolate Cake
Billy Corgan opened his long-awaited tea cafe in Highland Park, a suburb of Chicago, IL, a little over a week ago.
Opening day featured free tea and performances from the Smashing Pumpkins band member. But Corgan warned that, “If people come in to stalk me I won’t hang out because I don’t want to disrupt the customers.”
So Vegetarian Star stopped by a few days later to avoid such a disruption and instead stalk the vegan desserts.
There were a total of about six on the menu and the big slice of vegan chocolate cake with an equally vegan vanilla frosting had the biggest celebrity factor. The texture of the cake itself was extremely light and airy and the portion was well worth the $5 for the slice.
