Several celebrities have partaken in a funny PSA for Farm Sanctuary’s What Did You Do? campaign meant to raise awareness on the cruelty of factory farming and teach consumers how they can make a difference.

Russell Simmons, Shannon Elizabeth, Fred Willard and Ashlan Gorse play enthusiastic PR folks in a conference who are trying to pitch their ideas to help people understand just how much life on some of these farms suck for animals.

“I get that you don’t want to shock people but the reality is shocking,” Simmons says.

Some suggested ideas to get the shocking point across include “Celebrity Pictionary,” that illustrates how chickens get their beaks cut off. However, that idea is deemed “over the top.”

Mercado definitely has her favorites she’s become accustomed to while on tour for Mormon.

The vegetarian country music singer is making her acting debut in the NBC version about the popular 1965 movie that starred Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer.

In L.A., she has no problem finding good vegetarian food and she’s grown accustomed to the convenience.

Beth Stern North Shore Animal League Calendar

Beth Stern‘s 2014 North Shore Animal League calendar is now available for order.

The exclusive calendar features the animal advocate posing with several of her furry friends that include both dogs and cats. Photography was provided by Beth’s famous radio jockey husband Howard Stern.

The proceeds from the calendar will go towards Bianca’s Furry Friends, a planned Feline Adoption and Wellness named in honor of Beth’s deceased bulldog.
