“The Biggest Loser” Bob Harper Loves Barbecue Popchips

Written by Vegetarian Star on Wednesday, September 30th, 2009 in Food & Drink, Reality TV.

The NBC Universal Experience

The Biggest Loser coach Bob Harper interviewed with Never Say Diet, where he revealed what a typical day of his vegetarian diet consisted of.

Bob used to have a craving for chocolate, but since saying good-bye to the artificial sweeteners, it’s all about the Popchips now.

“I freakin’ love Pop Chips!” Bob said. “They come to my house and I’m like, Nicole [his assistant] get them out of my house! The barbecue flavor is my favorite.”

“They all know that I’m a vegetarian now. I tried to keep that under wraps for a while. It’s different for everyone, but I always try to hit three basic food groups and protein is number four in my book. I’m wanting people to get their fruits, vegetables and their grains and that to me is a well-balanced diet. Yes, your body needs protein, but it doesn’t need as much protein as everybody thinks it needs. I’m just trying to get people to eat their vegetables again. I’m like everybody’s father in America right now going “eat your vegetables.” It’s so sad that in 2009, people are still scared of carbohydrates. It’s sad that people are still thinking that you’re getting fat from eating carbs.”

Ugly Betty star Vanessa Williams was seen on the set of the ABC television series sporting this jacket with fur trim.

We hope Vanessa doesn’t take after her co-star Becki Newton, who adored her leather with fur trim vintage jacket.

Mode Magazine is all about trends, but fashion guru Wilhelmina Slater should know real fur is so many seasons ago.

What do you think?

Fur real or fur fake?

“The Booby Scare” Breast Cancer Awareness Month (Video)

Written by Vegetarian Star on Wednesday, September 30th, 2009 in Actresses, Nutrition-Health-Fitness, Videos.

Vegan Emily Deschanel, along with Alyson Hannigan, Kat McPhee, Minka Kelly, and Jaime King star in this breast cancer awareness video in celebration of October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

This is how celebrities have girls night in parties, so watch and take notes.

Full frontal shots of girl on girl boob grabbing and cleavage showing right before the paparazzi gets caught filming them.

Plus some great info on false alarms and what might not be breast cancer…like a rhinestone bra.

Incidentally, a vegetarian diet might give you more reason to grab your potentially lifelong cancer-free boobies.

Vegetarians have lower death rates from cancer, breast cancer rates are lower in countries where diets are plant-based, and when people from those countries adopt Western meat based diets, their breast cancer rates soar.

Brigitte Bardot Asked Sophia Loren For Fur Free Birthday

Written by Vegetarian Star on Wednesday, September 30th, 2009 in Actresses, Fur.

Bridgitte Bardot Travels to Romania to Save Street Dogs

Two sex symbols of the 60s, Brigitte Bardot and Sophia Loren, turned 75 this month.

Bardot, a vegetarian and animal rights activist, wished Sophia a happy three quarters of a century, asking Sophia to give her the best birthday present ever.

“I wish a happy birthday to Sophia Loren, my splendid twin, and I ask her to stop wearing fur — that is the best gift she could offer me,” Bardot said.

Bardot was less harsh with her words than she was in the 90s when she said, “Wearing a fur is wearing a cemetery on your back,” after Loren posed in fur for an Italian designer.

Hey, it’s her birthday month. Everyone’s a little nicer around that time.

Cindy Crawford Should Re-Read “Skinny Bitch”

Written by Vegetarian Star on Wednesday, September 30th, 2009 in Food & Drink, Models, Not So Vegetarian.

Cindy Crawford Style for JCPenney Launch Party

Cindy Crawford has recently announced she’s a fan of Rory Freedman and Kim Barnouin‘s vegan diet book, Skinny Bitch.

But Cindy either has a different copy than the rest of us or she needs to go through the book again with a yellow highlighter cause she thinks it gives her great incentives to cook with healthy ingredients like “chicken.”

When asked what book she’s recently read that’s had the most impact on her, Cindy answered:

“Skinny Bitch, by Rory Freedman and Kim Barnouin. It’s a great incentive to eat well, and I get extra energy from healthy choices like vegetables and chicken – all food we can eat together.”

But Cindy is known for her misunderstandings of vegetarianism and animal issues.

She once posed in an anti-fur campaign, then appeared on the cover of Vogue wearing a hide that wasn’t her own.

Veganism and chicken, anti-fur and fur-it’s all the same to some supermodels.

“Mr. Bumble” Obese Skunk Goes Vegetarian

Written by Vegetarian Star on Wednesday, September 30th, 2009 in Food & Drink, Humor, Offbeat.

mrbumbleskunk

Meet Mr. Bumble.

Sir Bumble hails from the UK and was put on a vegetarian diet after his former owners gave him to the Royal Society For The Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA).

Apparently, bacon is what caused Mr. Bumble to lose his sexy figure.

Mr. Bumble, who’s currently the Hot Slut of the Day,  is now residing in Tropiquaria animal park near Watchet, Somerset, according to BBC reports, and park owner Chris Noisier said: “We’re now working on dieting him down to what he should be and clearly bacon butties are not a normal part of a skunk’s diet in the wild.”

Skunks are omnivores, but usually stick to bugs and frogs in addition to berries, plants, and fruit.

Mr. Bumble weighs in at 14 pounds and needs to lose 5 or 6.

“We’re putting him on the vegetarian option at the moment. It’s very much like a human weight-watching issue,” Noisier said.

When Mr. Bumble slims, will he become the next pro vegetarian model for a certain animal rights groups that will probably ask him to take his clothes off as well?

One thing’s for sure, he’s definitely an anti-fur activist.
