Matisyahu

Matisyahu was spotted coming out of a restaurant in L.A. recently when he was asked who was the better Jewish rapper, him or Drake.

Drake, born Aubrey Drake Graham to a Jewish Canadian mother and African-American father from Tennessee, is a hip-hop artist who first made a name for himself in the entertainment business by starring as Jimmy Brooks in Degrassi: The Next Generation.

Matisyahu thinks Drake’s Jewishness can’t compete with his. It’s time for a rapping, Jewish man faceoff!

TMZ: He’s [Drake] going around saying he’s the best Jew to ever do it [have a successful rap career]. Who’s more kosher man? You or Drake?

Alyssa Milano

With so many advancements in warm, winter-wear technology and good looking faux furs out there, why would a designer use the real thing?

It’s something that boggles the mind of vegetarian actress Alyssa Milano.

“I’m not sure I understand, how in this day & age, some designers still use real fur in their collections,” Milano wrote on her Twitter account. “I mean, really?”

As a fashion designer herself, Milano knows how to be both chic and cruel-free.

She has a line of women’s sportswear called Fandalia that features tops, hoodies, jackets and pants with logos and designs that show support for major NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL and NCAA sports teams.

Kathy Freston "Veganist"

Kathy Freston "Veganist"

Kathy Freston made an appearance on “Good Morning America” and shared some of her favorite comfort meals cooked vegan style!

Mock versions of chicken dinners, pastas with meatballs and ice cream are good ways for people to make the transition to a vegan diet, Freston says.

“Take out eating one animal at a time and replace it with the vegan meal that looks like the traditional favorite food and just lean into it. You don’t have to make the change overnight but just gradually move toward vegan food.”

Freston tantalizes Robin Roberts‘ taste buds with vegan Chicken Parmesan, spaghetti bolognese, chicken nuggets and ice cream made from coconut and soy milk. With selections like these, it may be tempting to ditch the whole “gradual” movement and dive right in.

Seitan and soy chicken fingers every night anyone?

“Really the thing is to understand that this lifestyle is not a sprint, it’s a marathon. You want to make the changes that you will stay with your whole life. You know, go to the Red Bamboos out there that give you the types of food where it’s transitioning you away from the meat and dairy. If you try to go from eating meat to straight up raw food you’re not gonna last. So little by little just phase out the poisonous foods and replace them with healthy substitutes.”
