“Industrial agriculture is a part of the problem. Organic farming, relying on more productive, safer methods to put carbon back in the soil, produce safer and better food–that’s a big part of it. The shift towards a more meat-intensive diet is also part of the problem. The clearing of forest areas in many parts of the world in order to raise more cattle–that’s a part of it.”

Jamie Oliver put his culinary skills to good use recently when he prepared a vegan meal for Captain Paul Watson and the rest of the Sea Shepherd crew while they stayed in London.

The Captain wrote on his Facebook page, “A very big thank-you to Chef Jamie Oliver for treating the entire crew of the Steve Irwin to a free vegan dinner at Jamie’s Italian restaurant at Canary Wharf last night.”

Megan Fox is the latest celebrity to go vegan, get unhealthy and complain about it because she didn’t know how to follow the diet.

On a nicer note, the actress was able to stick to the regime for over a year.

We hope she’s at least still vegetarian.

According to the Humane Society of the United States, the purpose of the partnership is to, “promote respect, protection, and compassion for animals around the world.”

One way the vegetarian TiK ToK singer is accomplishing this is by using her fan base to raise money for animal charities.
