Quantcast Vegetarian StarAldo Zilli Opens Zilli Green Restaurant–A Vegetarian Signor Zilli

Celebrity Chefs Launch Taste Of London 2007

First chef Aldo Zilli warned about processed meat, now he’s throwing the entire rump roast out the door.

Hooray!

Zilli has announced he’s relaunching his Signor Zilli restaurant as a vegetarian concept restaurant, according to Catersearch.

Every item on the menu at the all new Zilli Green will be meat and sea-food free.

Zilli came up with the idea after he appeared in the reality TV show Celebrity Fit Club.

“The program inspired me to alter the focus of my cooking with new ingredients and different patterns of eating,” he said.

The menu will feature a blend of Asian and Italian cuisines with items such as seared tofu, miso soup and smoked mozzarella.

Paul McCartney has been caught enjoying dinner made especially to suit to his dietary needs at Signor Zilli.

Now he and other plant lovers can walk into Zilli Green and browse an entire menu made exclusively for them.

Zilli Green opens February 14.

About time!! Having been a vegetarian for 20 years, it is always difficult to find an interesting menu and one with more than one option when eating in non-vegetarian restaurants. Having eaten in Aldo’s in Dean Street on many occasions when he first opened the restaurant (yes, I am very old !! – about his age actually) I trust it will be of good quality with new and exciting choices. No vegetarian lasagne or pizza or parmesan cheese flan thanks. Will make a special trip to London for this one.

Sally, it is not difficult at all – when you make the trip to London you should come for a week. Here are a few for you, one for every night – as well as Zilli Green also check out Mana in chalk farm, The Gate in Hammersmith, Blah Blah Blah at Goldhawk road, Vanilla Black at Chancery Lane, Mildred’s in Soho, Saf at Old Street.. all fantastic.

Okay, I am a chef and have worked in all the top veggie restaurants in London as head chef and consultant. Vanilla Black is hands down the best in the capital, followed by Manna and the Gate. Blah Blah Blah is either closed or he’s trying to sell. SAF which was for its first year really great has gone right down the drain in the last 6 months!, Food is not half as good as it used to be. Mildreds is great for a quick meal, its burgers and the type though. Carnevale is very good, but found it a little expensive. Tibits is rubbish!. A aussie company is coming to the capital, called Oterian which promises to be good but its taken them ages to open because of politics in the company!. There is also a Iranian millionairess whose Daddy steal oil from the Turkmenistans goverment who want to open a vegan/raw thing, stay clear- another daydreamer, She wants me to work for her but when I met her she treated me like a house maid so she can F$%k right off!. But there is great veggie places all over the place, just have to search a little!…

It is great to have very good veggie restaurants in West End. Ideally first class veggie food and first class restaurant which will provide convenience to vegetarians/vegans who work in that area and to promote vegetarianism among their colleagues.
