When Josh Radnor wants something to eat in San Francisco, he can always count on some good friends to fill him up with food that’s wholesome, delicious and vegan.

Of course, he’s gotta pay these friends, because they run a chain of vegan restaurants in the Bay area called Cafe Gratitude.

“I go to San Francisco a few times a year,” Radnor said. “I have very great friends there. Some of my very dear friends own a bunch of cafes there that just now opened in LA called Cafe Gratitude.”

Ricky Gervais, who admits he’s not comfortable eating meat as much now that he knows about the conditions animals on farms endure, has finally started eating vegetables.

He’s 49.

Lauren Bush Says Traveling Not Always Vegetarian Friendly

Meatless Mouthful–Howard Lyman Winning War On Meat

“And I’m winning. When’s the last time you heard someone who said, ‘Boy, am I eating more red meat’? You can go to any truck stop in America and tell them you want vegan and they’ll know what you’re talking about. They used to jump back like it was a communicable disease.”

Howard Lyman, former 4th generation cattle rancher and author of Mad Cowboy, during  a speech given for Earth Day. Lyman adopted a vegan diet for health reasons and is now an animal welfare activist who travels around the country, talking about his background while promoting a vegan diet.

After many years of rebellion, it looks like Padma Lakshmi may be returning to the vegetarian roots she grew up with. The Top Chef Masters judge has recently revealed she’s eating a lacto-vegetarian diet and intends to bring her baby up the same way.

If you have a love for Indian food, you don’t have to be a Top Chef to whip something up that meatless, and even dairy-free and egg-free, as much of the food in this cuisine is already based on many legumes like beans.

Mario Batali’s Meatless Monday–Sorta

Mario Batali is on board and ready to embrace a life with less meat. He’s observing Meatless Monday is his restaurants, has plans for a vegetarian cookbook and made one of his New Year’s resolutions for 2011 to learn to cook more vegetarian meals.

Making vegetables the center of his plate is how Batali lost a significant amount of weight and continues to maintain a lighter figure.

During one of Grubstreet’s regular “a week in the food life of [insert famous person],” Mario gave an an example of how he keeps Meatless Monday.
