Lady Gaga and her smelly meat dress may have launched a repulsive trend in fashion.
The New York Daily News reports that designer Jeremy Scott showcased a model in a bustier and matching skirt that appeared to be made from prosciutto at Scott’s Spring 2011 fashion show during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.
The dried ham look isn’t flattering on anybody, but with so many models aiming to be stick thin, why would any of them agree to look like a pig?

Comments Off on Whitney Port Eats A Cowless Patty At Bill’s Bar And Burger In New York

Whitney Port, narrator and cast member of The City and known for her role in The Hills, discovered even a restaurant known for its burgers can whip up something creative sans flesh.
Port dined with friends at Bill’s Bar & Burger in New York, but while her company ate burgers and wings, Port reportedly enjoyed the veggie burger without sauce.
Does this mean Port’s not a fan of roasted red pepper? Cause we sure are and think some homemade pepper sauciness would go great over a homemade veggie burger.
The Market Veggie Burger on Bill’s Menu contains lettuce, tomato, Swiss cheese and roasted red pepper sauce.

Comments Off on Natalie Imbruglia Voices Anti-Fur Video For PETA

Natalie Imbruglia
Natalie Imbruglia judges contestants’ vocal abilities on X Factor, but recently she gave her own voice to an anti-fur video for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.
“There is no kind way to rip the skin off animals’ backs,” Imbruglia says. “Anyone who wears any fur shares the blame for the torture and gruesome deaths of millions of animals each.”
“Saving animals is as simple as choosing synthetic alternatives instead of real fur.”
Natalie posed with a rabbit in an anti-fur ad for PETA in 2008, and she’s outspoken when it comes to criticizing other celebrities who wear animal skins, saying less than nice things about Jennifer Lopez during a Cosmopolitan interview in 2005.

Jonathan Safran Foer is on tour to promote his only work of non-fiction, Eating Animals, a book that explores factory farming and vegetarianism.
Foer’s stop at Harvard was accompanied by an interview with the The Crimson, where Foer gave a statistic about who’s going meatless in the college population.
“Eighteen percent of college students describe themselves as vegetarians,” Foer said. “There are more vegetarians than Catholics in college. In college campuses, it is so unremarkable to be a vegetarian. It’s a kind of aspirational identity. That’s the reason to be most hopeful.”

Comments Off on Jillian Michaels Invites YOU To Contact Congress For Healthier School Meals

Jillian Michaels is asking parents to join her in writing to their representatives in Congress in support of H.R 5504, the Improving Nutrition for America’s Children Act.
The bill would make more plant based meals available to students, as well as more fresh fruit and vegetables, improve safety conditions and make more children eligible for free or reduced lunch. The points are highlighted on the house.gov blog and include just a few of the following.
- Establishing more farm to school programs and school gardens to connect children to local produce.
- Improving food safety requirements in school settings, including better training for food service workers on food safety and quicker recall notification of foods.
- Enroll children in school lunch programs through Medicaid/SCHIP data instead of requiring extra applications.
The bill also wants to provide the first increase in reimbursement for meals in 30 years–by a rate of 6 cents per meal.
