Yotam Ottolenghi (that guy who annoyed everybody by saying even fish eaters can call themselves vegetarian) will be cooking a true vegetarian meal at the most ironic of restaurants in July.
Ottolenghi will offer an evening of himself, an optional wine pairing and his recipes from his latest cookbook, Plenty, at Animal restaurant in Los Angeles.
If the name “Animal” doesn’t already have your stomach churning, please know this is the restaurant owned by Jon Shook, the boyfriend of former vegan Shiri Appleby, who said she was motivated to eat his pig ears, foie gras and rabbit legs after deciding no respectable man would date a vegan girl.

The Foo Fighters aren’t complete vegetarian haters.
After all, they didn’t turn down and even praised the winning vegan cornbread stuffing during a guest chef appearance on Top Chef.
But in a comical, 52-page tour rider containing animated drawings, funny lists and other satirical written material, the band jokingly reminds staff to remember their vegetarian crew members who unfortunately, weren’t gotten rid of by “the crusades.”
These instructions are included with menu no-nos, which include “pubic hair,” and punishments for not following instructions, which including receiving a wedgie.

“It’s the same thing, animals are like children, they look to us for protection. We should protect them. I really feel quite smug about mad cow disease and foot and mouth and so forth, and I just think ‘Well, what do you expect’? People have been saying it for years.”
—Morrissey, in another statement that makes him famous for his outspokenness, comparing eating meat and child abuse. A 10-day music festival in Belgium has taken meat off the menu for the day Morrissey performs, and the “Meat is Murder” singer also recently asked a venue in Perth to do the same. Morrissey has been known to walk off the stage during a show because the smell of meat disgusted him.
