Donny Moss, director for the controversial insider film on what happens in the horse-drawn carriage industry, Blinders, was sadly able to utilize his filming skills recently to capture a wreck that occurred in NYC last week.

A taxi crashed into the carriage, throwing the carriage driver into the street.

The horse ran, but is presumed to be okay.

Take a look for yourself and decide: Is it time to overhaul this tradition?

The New York Times has posted an article on women who have taken charge!

No longer slaves to corporate human factory farms, these ladies have started their own businesses, offer advice on healing and empowerment and how to lead a holistic healthy life in general.

Kris Carr, founder of the Crazysexylife.com website-a hub for anyone cravings the tips of how live strong and healthy (including vegetarian), is featured as one of the leading ladies.

“One of the most prominent is Kris Carr, a former actress who a month after appearing in two beer commercials during the Super Bowl in 2003 was found to have cancer in her liver and lungs. She went on a voyage of self-transformation that she chronicled in a documentary, “Crazy Sexy Cancer,” which aired on TLC in 2007, and was followed by two books.”

“Her Web site, Crazy Sexy Life, has become a nexus for women who identify themselves as leaders of a new generation of self-empowerment. Bloggers for the site include Rory Freedman, an author of the “Skinny Bitch” diet guides; Ms. Bernstein; and Mallika Chopra, a parenting author whose father is Deepak Chopra.”

“We are encouraging people to eat right, to exercise, to tap into their spirituality, to start listening to themselves, and to do it in a way that’s bold and resonates,” Carr said.

We briefly touched on the fact that Woody Harrelson turned Zombieland into a more environmentally friendly set during its shooting.

Now we’re learning more details on how Woody used his vegan eco powers to make the set a little greener.

Director Ruben Fleischer, who Woody convinced to eat veg during the filming, has revealed to WENN:

“He practices what he preaches and made us all aware. I’m far healthier since knowing him. He’s very persuasive.”

“He eats raw food and vegan items, so he had a chef making delicious things for him every day that he shared with me and the rest of the cast that was healthy and delicious.”

“One of the requirements for him doing the film was that we have a green set as much as possible. All the silverware was metal that could be washed and reused, as opposed to just thrown away.”

“If we did use plates or cups or glasses it was all biodegradable. We didn’t use plastic. Instead of having plastic water bottles, which he sees as a huge environmental threat, we had big coolers and everybody on the set got their own jug that they could refill.”

Wonder if Fleischer and the cast continued the veg and green efforts once the shooting wrapped up.

Eli Roth may beat Nazis with baseball bats in Inglourious Basterds, but he would never dream of doing so to anyone in real life-including an animal.

He’s teamed up with PETA to do a PSA, advising people to report abuse on animals.

Sharing your drink with one is completely optional.

“If you know of someone who’s abusing an animal, please tell the police or tell an adult,” Roth said. “People who get away with hurting animals often turn their violence against people, and that’s a cycle we need to break.”

David Mirkin, executive producer for The Simpsons has pulled in some great celebrities to guest star on the show including Leonard DiCaprio, Johnny Depp, and Paul McCartney.

McCartney was quite adamant about the conditions of his appearance, though.

He agreed to only do it if Mirkin kept Lisa Simpson a vegetarian for every episode.

“It’s actually Paul McCartney who was responsible for another permanent change,” Mirkin said. “When I asked him to do the vegetarian episode, he agreed but made me promise to keep Lisa as a vegetarian – and I was happy to comply with that because I’m a vegetarian too! Every time I see him, he always checks – and he’s always surrounded by nine or ten lawyers, so it’s quite frightening!”

Lisa is a veg. Apu is a veg. David is a veg. We’re hoping Marge’s twin sisters make the plunge next!

Woody Harrelson converted someone to vegetarianism, if only temporary.

During the filming of an upcoming film, Zombieland, Woody convinced director Ruben Fleischer to eat vegetarian during the duration of the shoot.

“The script is fantastic,” Jesse Einsenberg, who plays Columbus, told altpress.com. “Of course the premise is silly-there’s no way to describe it without sounding silly-but the script is great. It’s really wonderful and unique, and the characters are fantastic. Woody Harrelson is in it, and the director agreed to become a vegetarian for the duration of the shoot because Woody Harrelson is vegan.”

And let’s give it up for the environmentally friendly set.

“The set is pretty eco-friendly, actually. We recycle a lot onset, which is good, because movies are a very wasteful industry.”

Zombieland is set to the premise that after America is ravaged by a zombie plague, the few lone survivors run from the living dead, arriving at a theme park they believe to be safe.

Sources that attended an advanced screening of director Rob Zombie’s Halloween 2 said the horror flick contains two vegetarian protagonists.

The movie’s heroine, Laurie Strode (Scout Taylor-Compton) & her best friend Annie (Danielle Harris) are not only vegetarian, but animal activists.

Plus, there’s a scene where the two lecture Annie’s father (Brad Dourif) about eating meat.

Before you get too excited, you must know this is only a screening, and it’s possible scenes could be cut.

But hey, the likelihood of keeping Laurie and Annie veg seems not only possible, but practical, given the rising popularity of the veg movement.

Halloween 2 hits the theatres August 28.

If you thought your homeowners’ association was strict, listen to plight of Guy Ritchie.

Guy has to get permission just to grow some fruits and vegetables on his property! It’s all part of a plan to green the estate he and Madonna once shared to make it more efficient.

Because of the historical significance of Ashcombe House in Wiltshire, England, he’ll need clearance to build a greenhouse and vegetable plots.

The planning application, according to Starpluse.com, reads as following:

“In the estate’s prime when it was painted in the 18th Century, it was surrounded by extensive gardens including major vegetable gardens. In recent years, all productive vegetable gardens have been lost. The gardens that remain are formal or semi-formal flower gardens.”

“It is proposed to try to make Ashcombe House self-sufficient. The part-walled gardens leading from the back door to the staff building will be turned over to vegetables and given a row of greenhouses to produce vines, fruit, early vegetables and seedlings… Produce from the greenhouses will be used on the estate, all part of an effort to make the estate more self-sufficient and sustainable.”

Sure hope Guy gets his application approved. Home grown produce is the least he can do to make up for the forced ham diet he puts the children on at Christmas.
