Over the years, Vegetarian Star has reported on lots of interesting news on celebrity moms, moms-to-be and vegetarian/vegan diets.

Many of them focus on celebrities who (sadly) give up plant-based diets during pregnancy due to insatiable cravings.

Here’s a story about an actress who might try vegan after giving birth.

Ali Larter posted her thoughts to Instagram on whether or not vegan food might bring back her pre-baby body.

Sounds promising, even though it was done over a very meaty and cheesy dish.

“Between bites of chicken parm, I debated whether to try #paleo #atkins #vegan to lose my baby weight. Can’t wait,” she wrote.

Vegetarian and vegan diets have been explored as being successful in helping people lose and maintain weight. And those who follow plant-based diets tend to be slimmer and have less risk of obesity-related diseases than meat eaters.

Even if Larter doesn’t continue the vegan path after losing the baby fat, she’ll have increased her knowledge of preparing different foods in the kitchen.

Larter, known for her roles in Final Destination and Heroes, considers herself a foodie and loves cooking, and a vegan diet may be a fantastic way for her to expand her skills.

She once said: “I love to cook. I spend weekends reading cookbooks—it’s really my relaxation.”

Incorporating flexitarian meals into her diet will keep her looking great long after the baby pounds have shed–and leave her with a variety of delicious food ideas for a relaxing and tasty weekend.
