America’s favorite Cover Girl has launched her own line of products for the face.
Christie Brinkley‘s vegan and environmentally friendly skincare line, Christie Brinkley Authentic Skincare, will launch in early March of 2015 on HSN before hitting the shelves of Kohn’s stores later that month.
While the 60-year old hasn’t aged much since her days of modeling in the 80s, she has grown wiser over the years.
Products in the collection pay special attention to sun protection and contain built-in SPF factors.
“It was very important to me that we formulated something that, as much as is possible, protected against future sun damage,” Brinkiey said.
It’s quite a contrast to what she promoted over 30 years ago when she advocated spending lots of time in the sun to achieve the perfect tan in her book, Christie Brinkley’s Outdoor Beauty and Fitness.
Brinkley says she considers herself “lucky” to still have great skin despite taking her own advice when she younger.
The line, which include the proprietary Bio-Copper Complex that offers broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection, was developed in collaboration with dermatologist Doris Day,
Martin-Vachon, chief merchandising officer for HSN, said of the supermodel: “She has first-to-market technology in the line, which is a fair trade, eco-friendly line that doesn’t test on animals. And she is incredibly passionate about this line.”
