"Michael Jackson's This Is It" New York Premiere

It’s no secret guitar genius Orianthi knows how to handle the strings.

But did you also know she’s just as dexterous with the spoon, mixer and measuring cup?

“I love making pizzas from scratch,” Orianthi told IProng magazine, which she is currently on the cover. “I make the base and then I make the topping and everything. And then I love making vegan cakes, you know, just healthier kinds of things. I love cooking. It’s like a meditation for me.”

Orianthi  has a brand new album out, Believe.

Visit iprong.com to learn how Orianthi was talented and fortunate enough to work with Michael Jackson during his final months of life in preparation for the This Is It tour.

It’s no secret Silverstein and PETA are buddies.

Not only have the guys participated in PSAs for the animal rights group, they also threw down an eating challenge with KFC’s vegan faux chicken sandwiches when the restaurant first offered them.

Band member Shane Told recently explained to bringbacktheboombox.com how he and the other Silverstein musicians got acquainted with PETA.

“Our whole band is vegetarian. We just happen to all be vegetarians. We didn’t come together, it just happened. It wasn’t something that our band was fueled by; it was just something that we all had in common. I was talking to PETA while they were at a show and I mentioned that we were all vegetarians, they thought that was very rare. They really wanted to work with us so they contacted us. They wanted us to get involved. We don’t mind spreading the word, it’s important to have a table with some information at the shows. That’s how I learned about it originally from going to hard-core shows and seeing their table that explains about fur and vegetarianism, helping people understand it. That’s how it came about.”

Boy meets AR group. They hit it off on the first date. They agree to continue seeing each other.

Yeah, it’s a pretty classic story.

Perez Hilton PETA–Loud And Obnoxious Meets Loud And Obnoxious

Perez Hilton "Save The Seals"

Perez Hilton "Save The Seals"

Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton is one several stars posing in a PETA Save The Seals campaign.

Perez has voiced his opinions on the animal rights group before, saying although he didn’t agree with everything it stood for, he still found common ground. “I don’t support PETA—I support some of the things that PETA does. I support that they’re kind of like me, in that they’re loud and sometimes obnoxious. Underneath that, a lot of the things they do and other things I don’t agree with.”

Good to know Perez supports ending seal hunts.

“I don’t understand why they have to commit this act of brutality and barbarity,” Perez said. “It’s not necessary.”

There’s no better way to get loud and obnoxious, Perez.

BTW, Perez is looking better than ever, having slimmed down thanks to some better eating and exercise sessions.

Has this dude been stocking up on his veggies, too?

Ivanka Trump Jared Kushner Wedding–Fur Real Or Fur Fake

Written by Vegetarian Star on Tuesday, November 3rd, 2009 in Fur, Fur Real Or Fur Fake.

The Trumps Get together!

The Trump family got together recently to celebrate the wedding of Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner.

You know that means Donald spent more hours than his bride daughter did in front of the mirror prepping and pruning his toupee.

This shot was taken featuring one of the fam dressed in a white, furry coat.

She’s totally fired.

But only if that’s real fur she’s wearing, versus some stylish variety that’s faker than Donald’s protegee and Miss USA contestant Carrie Prejean‘s bossom.

Take a look and decide for yourself.

Fur real? Or fur fake?

Paul McCartney Nancy Shevell “Actor’s Fund” Blue Fin NYC Dinner

Written by Vegetarian Star on Tuesday, November 3rd, 2009 in Couples, Food & Drink.

Stella McCartney - Paris Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2010

Paul McCartney and girlfriend Nancy Shevell enjoyed dinner at Bluefin restaurant in New York City for the Actor’s Fund dinner recently.

McCartney enjoyed food from a vegetarian menu and was “super friendly” according to a source.

Good food, plus the fact McCartney was the guest of honor probably contributed to his super friendly mood.

If Nancy didn’t order from the vegetarian menu, surely she took some nibbles off Paul’s plate, considering she’s been reportedly eating more plant based meals since dating Paul.

Carrie Underwood Milkshake Brings Boys To The Yard–Occasionally

Written by Vegetarian Star on Tuesday, November 3rd, 2009 in Female Singers, Food & Drink, Recipes.

Carrie Underwood - ABC's 'Good Morning America'

During a recent interview with USA Today, Carrie Underwood ate a veggie burger, fries and milkshake–which considers to be a rare treat.

“I don’t do milkshakes often,” Underwood said. “I probably haven’t had one in years, to be honest.”

But a milkshake could be closer to your grasp than previously thought, if you substitute healthier ingredients for high calorie ones.

Carrie had a shake with Oreos, for example. A McDonald’s McFlurry with Oreos has 550 calories and 17 grams of fat.

Contrast that to this vegan milkshake with chocolate, banana and strawberries with only approximately 250 calories and 5 grams of fat.

1 Large Banana, chopped and frozen
3/4 cup Vanilla Soymilk (Light)
3 tbsp. Special Dark Cocoa
1/4 tsp Vanilla Extract
60 grams strawberries

Directions
Place all ingredients in blender, blend until smooth and serve immediately.

Sure could bring a  lot more boys to the yard with that shake.

Steve Martin Banjo Playing Snacks Include Sugar Snaps And Tofu

Written by Vegetarian Star on Tuesday, November 3rd, 2009 in Actors, Comedians, Food & Drink, Male Musicians.

Steve Martin's Big Bad Banjo And A Conversation With Dave Barry

We’ve heard of what bands request when they’re backstage on tour and think we have a good idea of what Steve Martin snacks on between his banjo drumming performances.

Yeah, Steve Martin really plays the banjo.

From the Times Online:

“In fact, Martin has been playing the banjo for almost 50 years, and is accomplished enough to have won the approval of such banjo virtuosos as Scruggs (best known for the Beverly Hillbillies theme), Bela Fleck and Tony Trischka.”

“In his dressing room backstage at the Ryman, a visibly nervous Martin signs posters and nibbles at a vegetarian snack of sugar snaps and tofu. “Don’t tell anybody I have tofu,” he demands, deadpan, before explaining how he came to be performing at the home of country music.”

Steve’s CD, The Crow: New Songs For The Five String Banjo, was released earlier this year.
