Griff Whalen Of Indianapolis Colts Receives The Vegan Pass

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Griff Whalen is just as great at spreading the vegan news as his team mates are at passing him a football.
Whalen gave the Indianapolis Star a peak into his kitchen as well as a brief interview that explained how he was “drafted” into the diet and how it’s working so well for him.
Whalen has his girlfriend to thank for the change.
She watched a few videos before giving the diet a trial. Whalen soon realized he could reap the benefits too. The two are parents to a rescue dog that also follows an all-natural diet.
There are a few foods Whalen misses since his switch.
Like many football enthusiasts, he’s a fan of chicken wings. And donuts that are often stocked in the team’s room can also be tempting.
But he’s fully convinced that the reduced risk of developing diet-related diseases and feeling “lighter, faster, quicker on the field” are well worth it.
“It’s all been proven,” he said of the diet’s health benefits.
And if there’s any proof that an athlete can get enough food on a plant-based diet, Whalen is it.
During some of his most rigorous training days, he consumes as much as 6,000 calories a day!
