Senator Ted Cruz Wife Heidi Is Vegetarian

The wife of Senator Ted Cruz from Texas has been profiled in the New York Times.
The cattle may be big in the state Cruz represents, but his better half would prefer to represent her state with legumes, rice and vegetables.
Yes, the Mrs. Ted Cruz is a vegetarian.
From the Times:
“At first glance, Senator Ted Cruz’s wife, Heidi Nelson Cruz, seems to be just the sort of person the Tea Party supporters who celebrate her husband’s anti-establishment positions love to hate.”
The writer then goes on to to describe her diet and other traits it feels may be the antithesis of the South, Texas, the Republican Party and all things associated with such a stereotypical Venn diagram.
Mrs. Cruz isn’t the first person associated with a conservative party to profess to having a plant-based diet. And as the lady behind one of the rising stars in the Senate, she could provide the perfect opportunity to teach Texans and the rest of America how to improve their diets and health.
Ann Romney has her family cookbook filled with buttery and animal ingredient-rich recipes.
It would be nice to see Heidi Cruz do a similar move with tofu.
