Lisa Oz is not just the good doctor’s vegetarian wife, she’s also the head of her own show on the Veria Living Network, The Lisa Oz Show.

Lisa and the Dr. raised children together, one of which happens to be Daphne Oz,  the famous co-host of the popular ABC daytime cooking show, The Chew.

Having been a vegetarian since her teens, Lisa, like any mother concerned for her family’s health, was pivotal in helping the family make better eating decisions.

Her secret?

It must be the green smoothies she consumes on a regular basis.

Dita told Bang Showbiz: “Basically what I’d do is I’d have the green smoothie in the morning. Sometimes I’d have it for lunch, or from early morning until midday. Then I’d have a small lunch, vegetarian based, like a salad. Then I’ll eat my normal dinner at night.'”

In his column jointly written by Real Age doctor Dr. Roizen, Oz gives his recommendation for getting one of the most important nutrients in your diet–protein.

Oz said Americans eat an average of 150 burgers a year or the equivalent of three a week!

Even if you’re not willing to give up all three of those, Oz has a few suggestions for replacing at least one of those with one of his recommended veggie ones.
