Corey Feldman Served First Vegetarian Meal By Michael Jackson

Corey Feldman was introduced to vegetarianism by Michael Jackson. Literally.

In an interview with Las Vegas Weekly, the actor and musician revealed how the King of Pop served him his first vegetarian meal and how Feldman’s mother got him acquainted with the animal welfare side of things.

“At at early age, I became a vegetarian. There was a lot of resistance from family — “It will stunt your growth. It can’t be healthy.” But it started on The Goonies with Steven Spielberg. And with Michael Jackson. His chef cooked me my first-ever vegetarian meal. Michael Jackson presented it to me! Going vegetarian at such a young age, it was a stance for myself. “I’m doing it. I don’t believe in eating animals. You can survive in other ways.”

Feldman’s mother had plenty of rescue animals on their property while he was growing up, both traditional pets like cats and dogs and farm animals such as chickens, horses and pigs.

The actor is a regular contributor to animal causes through organizations like People For The Ethical Treatment of Animals, Farm Sanctuary, Last Chance For Animals and the Humane Society.

I’ve actually gone as far as being on the Senate floor in Boston to try and help pass laws with those organizations.”

Always sad to see a veg couple split.

But like our beloved Hayden Panettiere and Milo Ventimiglia, once happy vegetarian couple Corey Feldman and his wife Susie Feldman have called it quits after seven years of marriage.

Susie filed for divorce, citing “irreconcilable differences”.

The couple has a five year old son who they’ve raised veg since birth and have participated in numerous vegetarian and animal welfare events for organizations such as PETA and the Humane Society.

Hollywood’s most talked about soon to be married couple, Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom, recently attended a benefit sponsored by menswear line NSF and GQ for the Humane Society of the United States.

The event was meant to raise awareness on the cruel practices that take place in the puppy mill industry.

Other star guests at the Stop Puppy Mills Humane Society Benefit included Ginnifer Goodwin, Charlotte Ross, Hal Sparks, Shoshana Bush, Vanessa Branch, Tricia Helfer, Jorja Fox, Eric Szmanda and Corey Feldman.

Vegan sushi was on hand for those who wanted to snack.

Sure Khloe snatched some up, as she one day hopes to be a vegetarian.

Susie Feldman, along with husband Corey Feldman, was interviewed by theGreenGirls.com where she shared their secrets for greening both their home and work.

The Two Coreys reality TV star likens recycling to staying vegetarian by stating that because of what she knows about environmental issues, she can’t possibly look the other way.

“I almost feel I can’t throw trash away like I used to,” she says. “I feel guilty. I’m a vegetarian and I feel the same way. I could never just eat meat because of what I know. I can’t just throw away my bottles and cans in the trashcan because of what I know.”
